 Clean-up at Camp Wathana

Volunteer Description:

Individuals or groups of volunteers can visit Camp Wathana, nestled within 260 acres of beautiful woodland in Holly, Michigan. Volunteers are needed to help paint cabins, clear hiking paths, fix landscaping, repair cabins, lodges, bath houses and walkways, and assist in preparing the waterfront for winter. After servicing over 400 youth each summer, Camp Wathana is always in continuous need for some extra helping hands to keep camp up-to-date.

Benefits to Volunteer:

Opportunity to help clean-up and fix Camp Wathana to improve its quality for the hundreds of children, who attend the camp, may of which come from under-privileged families. In addition, help to ensure youth are given the opportunity to experience the natural outdoors and gain personal growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work indoors or outdoors
  • Willingness to get hands-on with clean-up projects
  • Particularly needed skills: Roofers, Lumberman

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age or be supervised by an adult
  • Reliable transportation

Term/Time Commitment:

Minimum of 3 hours, no maximum
